Controversial actress Claudine Barretto made headlines in the past after her family feud was exposed to the mainstream media as well as her separation with estranged husband Raymart Santiago. She is once again in the spotlight after she opened up about her niece, Julia Barretto’s family name issue.
Claudine is insinuating that she wants to end to the controversy surrounding the family of her sister, Marjorie, particularly regarding Julia Barretto’s intention not to use her father’s family name, but instead use Barretto as her actual surname.
Claudine said: “Siguro nga mas magandang desisyon yun para tahimik na lang. Kasi, at the end of the day, si Julia ang lagi nilang tinitira, eh. Sobra na rin naman, okay na yun. Tigil na lang.”
Now that Christmas is fast approaching, with almost less than two months to go, Claudine is happy because she will once again have the wonderful opportunity to be with the important people in her life to celebrate Christmas.
She said: “happy kasi siyempre kasama ko na ang Ate Marjorie [Barretto] ko saka yung mga pamangkin ko nitong Pasko. I’m happy, I’m excited.”
Claudine was also asked by ABS CBN to comment regarding the decision of Julia’s Dad, Dennis Padilla, to no longer pursue his fight to keep Baldivia as Julia Barretto’s surname and just allow her instead to legally adopt the family name, Barretto. She said, “Hindi ko alam. Hindi ko napanood o nabasa yung eksaktong sinabi at kung ano ang eksaktong nangyayari, kaya hindi ko naiintindihan. Desisyon nila yun. Siguro it’s about time, as a family siguro, na kailangan tulungan kami ni Julia. Kung ano ang problema, huwag sanang mangyari sa generation nila kung ano ang nangyari sa generation namin.”
“I’m hoping na kung mahal talaga natin si Julia, let’s lift her up, huwag natin siyang i-down, di ba,” Claudine continued.
When she was questioned about her relationship with estranged husband, Raymart Santiago, she said that she is now finally friends and in good terms with Raymart and she even confirmed this to him during her interview at the talk show “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” just recently.
For he meantime, ABS CBN warmly accepted and welcomed back Claudine Barretto, in the Kapamilya network much to her delight.
