Lifestyle show Metro Home will air a special episode this Sunday (June 9) at 8:30 p.m. on Metro Channel, taking a closer look at the Laperal Mansion, once honored as the most beautiful house of its time.
In celebration of Independence Day, “Metro Home” hosts Anton Barretto and Jessica Kienle Maxwell, who tour viewers around the elegant two-story European house located at the heart of the Malacanang compound, which now serves as the Presidential Guest House.
The Laperal Mansion, built a century ago, was formerly known as the Arlegui Guesthouse. It was an office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and also became the official residence of two former presidents of the country, Cory Aquino and Fidel V. Ramos.
It recently underwent a renovation to showcase world-class Filipino artistry, with each room becoming a love letter to past presidents of the country. The beautiful house boasts 14 bedrooms and 5 state rooms that, through their design, relive different parts of the country’s history and pay tribute to leaders of yesteryears.
