Talk show host, actress, producer and dubbed as the “Queen of All Media,” Kris Aquino is grumbling about the unfair comments on social media by netizens and bashers who are accusing their family of being abusive not to mention the stature of her brother, President Noynoy Aquino.
Kris remarked: “Binubugbog po ako sa social media, sinasabi mapang-abuso daw ang pamilyang Aquino, makapal daw ang mukha namin dahil ginagamit ko daw ang presidential chopper para mangampanya.”
Kris solicited the support of people during the campaign sortie of the Liberal Party on Thursday held in Hagonoy, Bulacan where Kris received a warm welcome from the locals.
As soon as photos of Kris Aquino and her President brother arriving in Dalaguete, Cebu by helicopters bearing the presidential seal surfaced online – the photos went viral and earned a lot of criticism from the people via social media who assumed that the Aquino family is supporting the campaign charge of the Liberal Party presidential aspirant Mar Roxas to the extent of utilizing the government choppers.
The President’s sister said: “Puwede bang ipagtanggol niyo ako? Kasi sa totoo lang po, one hour na po ako naghihintay. Ang mga guards na kasama ko naloka na lang nang sinabi ko maglakad na tayo, dahil nakakahiyang paghintayin ang Hagonoy.” The people who were there to witness and support the campaign responded cheerfully to her plea and reciprocated with a vibrant applause from them.
Kris announced earlier on her Instagram account that she will give herself a long break from her showbiz career.
Once again, she affirmed her full support for the candidacy of Mar Roxas for President and his running mate Leni Robredo for Vice President as Kris appeared in the Liberal Party’s campaign surge on Friday.
Meantime, President Aquino prompted the citizens that his sister is one of the country’s leading individual taxpayers and that he is only sharing her some “success” to complement her effort.
The President said: “Nagkamalay siya kung kailan dapang-dapa kami bilang isang pamilya. Gusto ko naman ipakita sa kanya, tignan mo ang resulta na talagang nagiging makabuluhan, may saysay itong demokrasya na ipinaglaban ng mga magulang natin.”
President Aquino in defense of his younger sister, Kris added: “Whether it is an individual taxpayer or someone who is very close to me who shared all of the burdens, I think it is just proper to share the successes. Share kami sa hirap, share kami sa successes.”
In support of the President’s statement, Communications Secretary Sonny Coloma in his text message, said: “Members of the President’s immediate family are allowed to ride with him in official government vehicles.”
