Julia Barretto has finally restored her relationship with actor-comedian Dad, Dennis Padilla after so many things had happened between them.
The feud with her Dad Dennis emerged when Julia, whose real name is Julia Frances Baldivia (Dennis’ real surname is Baldivia), decided to file a legal petition to change her surname.
Barretto said during the interview that she has settled her differences with her Dad even prior to the occasion when they were seen at a gym last month working out together.
Barretto explained: “Actually ‘yung gym na ‘yun super surprise. I knew that he goes to that gym and I go to that gym pero iba-iba ‘yung schedules namin so never kami nagkakatagpo. Nagulat ako, ‘Papa!’ It just happened. But we talked. We’ve been talking even before meeting. It wasn’t like we patched things up there. We patched things up even before that incident.”
Julia revealed that she’s happy with the positive development of her relationship with her dad Dennis and things are slowly getting better between them.
She remarked: “As a daughter, it makes me really happy because at the end of the day, he’s still my dad. No matter what, gusto ko sa huli okay kami, walang hard feelings.”
When Barretto was asked concerning the response of her mom Marjorie, she replied: “My mom is happy naman whenever I’m happy, my siblings are happy. That’s why I appreciate my mom so much kasi pinapabayaan niya kami kung saan kami okay. Guidance lang.”
At this stage, Julia is contemplating of planning something for her dad Dennis now that Father’s Day is approaching, this will be a good chance for her to show her affection.
Julia said laughing: “Let’s see, baka sa gym ulit. What does my daddy want? Siguro at this point, all he wants is for everybody to be okay, more than any material thing. I’m just glad this year is going so well so far.”
Meanwhile, Barretto is looking forward for her next TV series assignment. She’s scheduled to work together with Enchong Dee, Bea Alonzo, Ian Veneracion and Iza Calzado.
She said: “Sobrang excited ako kasi it’s a dream to work with the people that I’m gonna be working with next, next month. I’m thankful to ABS for giving me this chance. When you enter [showbiz], pangarap mo lang makatrabaho sila tapos ngayon nangyayari na. I’m very thankful.”
Julia is not in a hurry to enter into a relationship. She doesn’t mind being single especially now that her career is pretty full on – she just wants to focus more on her acting job.
When asked whether she would choose someone from the showbiz industry when she’s ready to have a lovelife, she simply said: “Ayaw ko magsalita ng patapos pero sana non-showbiz. Pero we can’t tell naman eh.”
