The sister of veteran actor, Ana Marie Regaliza-Datuin is earnestly requesting the supporters and friends of Julio Diaz to continuously offer their fervent prayers for the full recovery of Julio who underwent brain surgery this weekend at St. Luke’s Medical Center at Global City, Taguig.
In her Facebook account Ana Marie provided an update regarding the latest situation of her brother, Julio after undergoing endovascular treatment on April 10.
She revealed that Julio Diaz remains at the ICU of St. Luke’s Medical Center who’s still in critical condition after the brain surgery.
Ana Marie said: “Julio/Marnie, is now in recovery at the ICU of St. Luke’s Global City after the doctors performed the endovascular treatment or what they call the “coiling procedure”. According to brainneurysm.com, a catheter is inserted into a vessel over the hip and other catheters are navigated through the blood vessels to the vessels of the brain and into the aneurysm. Coils are then packed into the aneurysm up to the point where it arises from the blood vessel, preventing blood flow from entering the aneurysm.”
This was the first choice in the treatment plan. the second procedure of which was the surgery if the coiling didn’t work. Thank God for gifting the doctors with amazingly steady and crafty hands. The 1st plan was successful. Julio is now in ICU under observation. He will remain there for 1 week since his condition is still considered critical.
In a related development, Ana would like to express her heartfelt gratitude, thanking those people who helped them for the operation of her brother, Julio.
“Thank you to everyone who is helping out in raising the funds for Marnie Regaliza/A.K.A. Marnie Regaliza. I will be personally withdrawing the funds from this campaign and send it to the Philippines to pay off my brother’s hospital bills and medical needs by transmitting the money directly to the hospital (if they are able). If not, it will be transmitted through my son Michael who is helping his uncle out with all his needs, “she remarked.
In her previous post, prior to the brain operation Ana Marie Regaliza-Datuin made an appeal for help via the Go Fund Me website, so she could raise funds for her brother, Julio “Marnie” Regaliza Diaz’ brain operation.
Ana said in her post that the veteran actor was rushed to the hospital after losing consciousness due to extreme headache.
She stated: “A CAT Scan showed the swelling of a vein that needs surgery within the next 24-48 hours. If the surgery is not performed, an aneurysm is imminent which may lead to fatal damages.”
Ana Marie Datuin said that Julio’s main source of income only comes from renting out a portion of his house if he doesn’t have any film projects.
Meanwhile, Julio Diaz fine acting was recognized in the films Bayani (1992) at Sakay (1993) with Tetchie Agbayani . He also did movies together with popular actresses and actor during his prime, including Paano Tatakasan Ang Bukas? (1988) with Dina Bonnevie,Sinner Or Saint (1984) with Claudia Zobel, Kailan Ka Magiging Akin? (1990) with Janice de Belen, The Flor Contemplacion Story (1995) with Nora Aunor, Balahibong Pusa (2001) with Rica Peralejo and Kinatay (2009) together with Coco Martin.
