The alluring daughter of former Miss International, Melanie Marquez is now making her own mark in the modelling industry as she was handpicked to model for Bench for its Spring/Summer 2016 collection which will be available in various Bench outlets soon.
Her name is Michelle Dee, she is 20 years old and she stands at 5 feet 10 inches tall. She always stands out wherever she goes because of her pretty face, amazing body as well as her impressive height. Since she is the daughter of former beauty queen Melanie Marquez, it’s no surprise that she won the genetic lottery.
When Melanie was interviewed about her daughter, she said that that her daughter Michelle still needs to boost her self-confidence further by overcoming her stage fright. “She needs to be trained first,” Melanie quipped.
Melanie also confirmed that her daughter is not planning on entering the showbiz industry, she said “as of the moment, hindi pumapasok sa isip niya na mag-artista. For now, she just wanted to be a model.”
Michelle on her part wanted to make it on her own so she referred to herself as Michelle Dee and refrained from bringing up the Marquez name until she really had to.
“I never told them that I’m also a Marquez until they started asking about my background.”
Michelle Dee is the daughter of model-actress Melanie Marquez with erstwhile husband Derek Dee. The 20-year-old psychology student from De la Salle University knew what to expect being the daughter of Melanie. Luckily her relationship with her mom exposed her in the field of modelling. She said being a newbie in the business does not bother her.
She further said: “Being in the same household has kind of prepared me for life as a model.” When Suyen Corp., headed by its chair Ben Chan, hosted an exclusive luncheon fashion show at the Blackbird Restaurant, Michelle Dee, together with New York-based American model Chad White and Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt was one of the prominent models featuring the 2016 Spring-Summer collection of Bench, Human, Bench Body and Kashieca.
Dee, one of Marquez’s six children (she has two girls with Derek), is really keen on following her mother’s footsteps – she’s even keen on venturing abroad as soon as she finishes school.
