The re-make TV adaptation of Mexicanovela Marimar, topbilled by actress and Miss World 2013, Megan Young as Thalia, together with actor Tom Rodriguez playing the role of Sergio Santibanez, is no doubt one of the most watched Pinoy telenovelas being aired weeknights on Channel 7, Kapuso network.
The first adaptation was aired in 2007, with alluring actress Marian Rivera as the lead star while the hunk actor, Dingdong Dantes was tapped as her leading man. The lovely couple Dingdong and Marian are now happily married, and very soon expecting their first bundle of joy, which is another good reason why they cannot contain their feeling of joy and excitement.
On the other hand, Carla Abellana, another stunning actress and rumoured girlfriend of Tom Rodriguez, is currently hosting Karelasyon – another Filipino weekly drama anthology that features stories about real-life couples facing different challenges in their relationships. The show is being aired worldwide via GMA Pinoy TV and broadcasted by Channel 7, GMA Network.
Carla Abellana is the daughter of famous actor during his time, Rey PJ Abellana, and mother Aurea Reyes. She is also the granddaughter of another Filipina veteran actor, Delia Razon. Carla graduated from De la Salle University-Manila as Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree.
Carla, without everyone’s knowledge, used to be a teacher, prior to her commercial modelling and acting career.
Abellana, felt elated when she found out that she will be a part of PLDT Gabay Guro Teacherfest, held on September 27 at the Mall of Asia Arena, together with Mikael Daez, her fellow Sun Cellular ambassador.
In her short speech, Carla said: “Actually, lahat tayo dapat magbigay-pugay sa mga teacher… So kami ni Mikael, nagpapasalamat kami na at least through Sun Cellular, magagawa namin iyon. Makakapagpasalamat kami sa kanila by offering them a special feel na made exactly for them lang.”
According to Carla, the teachers have a soft spot in heart for the reason that she used to be an educator before she entered the showbiz industry.
“I was once a teacher. Actually, konti lang po ang nakakaalam na after college, nag-decide akong magturo.”She said.
Carla, was asked in an interview regarding her reaction about the hot kissing scene between Tom Rodriguez and Megan Young and Carla pretty much gave her approval regarding the said kissing part.
She said: “Hindi na kailangan ng blessing. Work lang.”
